An early morning blaze destroyed a removalist truck and its contents at Kingswood on December 1.
Firefighters from brigades including Regentville Fire and Rescue attended the blaze about 2am on Friday, December 1.
The tightly-packed trailer made extinguishing the fire “difficult and protected”, and resulted in many appliances including aerials and a Compressed Air Foam tanker to attend.
Fire fighting operations ceased after just over an hour.
“The combined weight of the wet load and the water being used has caused the stabiliser legs to sink into the bitumen,” the brigade stated.
An exclusion zone was established until the trailer was stabilised. The trailer was later dropped onto its chassis so the operation could continue.
