A man who allegedly recorded a woman using a toilet in a local shopping centre has been charged by Penrith police.
The 53-year-old woman was using the toilets in the Woodriff Street centre about 7.10am on Friday, December 1 when she noticed a mobile phone being held under the door of her cubicle, police said in a statement.
“The woman confronted the man, who was then detained by security before police arrived,” police stated.
He was arrested and taken to Penrith police station, where an ice pipe was found in his posession.
“On his phone police allegedly located a video of the woman using the toilet as well as many other videos of unknown women using public toilets at unknown locations,” police stated.
“Child exploitation material was also allegedly found on the phone.”
A 22-year-old man was charged with filming person’s private parts without consent, filming a person in a private act without consent, two counts of possessing child abuse material, and possession of equipment for administering a prohibited drug.
He appeared before Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday, and inquiries into the incidents continue.
