Motorists have been warned of changed traffic conditions on Castlereagh Road from next week as essential maintenance work takes place.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) stated the work involving replacing large sections of asphalt and repainting line markings would be carried out between High Street and Museum Drive.
“Work will take place across three week night shifts between Monday, November 20 and Friday, December 22 from 7pm to 5am, weather permitting,” the statement said.
“This work aims to improve the road surface and reduce long term maintenance costs.
“Work is being carried out at night to minimise delays for motorists.
“Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise caused by the work, including completing noisier tasks by 11pm.”
Up to date information will be displayed on electronic message boards along the road, and temporary traffic changes will be in place during work hours to ensure the work zone is safe. Traffic controllers will be on site for the safety of motorists and workers.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys, drive to the conditions and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
