About 300 library employees will converge on Penrith next week for the New South Wales Public Library Association (NSWPLA) annual conference.
It’s the first time the annual Switch Conference has been held in Penrith, and takes place from November 21 to 24.
Penrith was selected for its convenient and desirable location, along with the world-class facilities offered at the Event Centre, Penrith Panthers.
The three-day program features an impressive list of speakers including industry leaders, authors and entertainers and offers delegates a number of networking and development opportunities.
Penrith Mayor John Thain said he’s looking forward to welcoming conference delegates and showcasing the region’s rich history, attractions, natural beauty and restaurants to them.
“Penrith has become a popular conference location due to the fantastic conference facilities, group accommodation options and unique team building activities offered across the city,” he said.
“In addition to these features I have no doubt the delegates will be impressed by our libraries in Penrith, St Marys and St Clair. Our library facilities are some of the best in Australia, and they continue to be an important resource for residents and visitors of all ages.”
