Golfers from the Penrith region have recorded stand-out performances in the final round of the Western Sydney Region Veteran's Golf Association inter-club competition.

Wallacia Golf Club hosted the final round of the 2017 competition on October 30, with a full field of 144 golfers all keen to end the year on a winning note.

Leonay Golf Club finished in third position for the Club of the Year title on 1134 points, behind first place getters Dunheved Golf Club – which claimed the title for the second consecutive year – and the fast-finishing Richmond Golf Club.

Wallacia Golf Club’s Jo-Ellen Thorpe came runner-up for the Ladies Player of the Year title on 107 points, just slightly behind Dunheved’s Elaine Williams.

Richmond Golf Club’s duo of John Lawrance and Chris Kearns took out the Men’s Two-Ball event with 49 points, one point ahead of Andy Nonas and Frank Jones of Wallacia.

The Medley event was taken out by Tonni Gulli and Steve Frizzi (Glenmore), ahead of Julie and Martin Berg (Wallacia).
