Police appeal for witnesses to Londonderry crash that injured 11-year-old boy

Witnesses are being sought to a Londonderry crash that saw an 11-year-old boy taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to Blacktown Road shortly before 3pm on Friday, October 6 following reports of a crash between a Toyota Tarago and a Suzuki motorcycle, according to police.

“A 37-year-old man, the driver of motorcycle, and the 62-year-old male driver of the Tarago were both breath tested at the scene. Both returned a negative result,” police stated.

“An 11-year-old boy, a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition, suffering injuries to his arms and hip.

“No one else was injured.”

A crime scene was established in the area while officers from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit continued investigations into the incident, and police later appealed for witnesses to come forward.
