The Westfield Matildas' scintillating 6-1 victory over Brazil has set up an exciting rematch in Penrith next month.

The Aussie women trounced Brazil on Friday to take out the the inaugural Tournament of Nations in Los Angeles, and will look to back-up their victory when the two teams next meet at Pepper Stadium on September 16.

Penrith Mayor John Thain said the event had already created a buzz across the city.

“When council first entered into negotiations with the FFA to bring the Matildas to Penrith we could never have foreseen how great an opportunity this would be,” he said.

“We’re going to have a great contest on our hands in Penrith next month.

“Watching the Matildas beat Brazil again, this time on home soil in our own Pepper Stadium, surrounded by locals and visitors alike, will be a special experience. I encourage anyone interested to pick up their tickets asap.

“Excitement is building as we prepare to welcome world class soccer to Penrith.”

The Westfield Matildas will face Brazil at Pepper Stadium on Saturday, September 16, with a kick off time of 3pm. Tickets are available from Premier Ticketek: http://bit.ly/2teWyqZ
