An appeal to put warmth into the lives of homeless and underprivileged people in the local area has been launched in Penrith.

Penrith CBD Corporation, ANZ Bank and Wentworth Community Housing last week launched Project Warmth, encouraging Penrith businesses and the wider community to donate new items to help those on the streets keep warm.

Items such as jackets, blankets, beanies, socks, gloves and scarves are being sought, with a number of drop-off points for donations.

Cash support is also being sought for Penrith Community Kitchen, which helps provide meals to those experiencing homelessness.

Items can be donated to the High St and Westfield branches of ANZ Penrith, Penrith MP Stuart Ayres’ office (510 High Street), Penrith CBD Corporation (488 High Street), of the office of Lindsay MP Emma Husar (333 High Street).

Details on how to donate cash can be obtained from Penrith CBD Corporation on 47225556 or by emailing admin@penrithcbdcorp.com.au.
