Woman to face court over possession of prohibited weapon

A knuckle duster containing a taser was allegedly discovered by police after a vehicle was stopped in Cranebrook.

Officers stopped the vehicle about 1.45pm on May 11 while it was travelling on Sheringham Road and a search allegedly revealed the weapon, a Penrith police spokesman said.

“Police located a taser shaped like a knuckle duster in a woman’s possession,” the spokesman said.

A 45-year-old Cranebrook woman has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon without a permit and is due to face Penrith Local Court on June 13.
