Westfield Penrith has announced it will introduce ticketless parking from next week.
In a statement released last week, the retail giant said the new parking system would use number plate recognition technology to replace paper tickets from May 22.
“When you've finished shopping, if your visit to the carpark is within the three hour free parking period, proceed straight to the exit and the boom gate will raise automatically,” the statement said.
“If you exceed the three hour free parking period and you're registered for ticketless parking, drive to the exit and any parking fees due will be automatically charged to your nominated credit card.
“If you're not registered for ticketless parking and you exceed the three hour free parking period, you can pay for your parking at any of the pay stations in centre.
“If you exit the centre and want to return on the same day, there must be 30 minutes between exit and re-entry in order to receive another three hours free parking period.”
