Up to 2,000 participants are expected to descend on Penrith for the Australian Corporate Triathlon, to be held outside Sydney for the first time this year.
Planned for April 23 at the International Regatta Centre, teams will swim, ride and run to raise money and boost awareness about the link between mental health, exercise and healthy working relationships.
Penrith Mayor Cr John Thain said there was nowhere better for the iconic race to be held.
“This is the first time the event has been held outside of Sydney Harbour and it’s coming to a world-class Olympic facility in the heart of the adventure capital of NSW,” Cr Thain said in a stratement.
“The International Regatta Centre is an outstanding venue and we’re proud to share it, and our beautiful city, with the rest of Sydney.
“Penrith is the place to be and race participants coming from all over the state and in some cases, the country, will get to experience that first hand. We have once in a life time experiences covering everything from adrenaline and adventure to culture, art and history, as well as tonnes of things for the whole family.
“The event is open to all businesses and organisations, and I’d love to see some of our local business register teams and show NSW our competitive spirit.”
