#Jackie is Penrith's top tweeter

THE fact is Jackie Warner (pictured) knew she was addicted to Twitter. What she didn't know was that she was Penrith's biggest tweeter. She's also posted more 140-character-or-less updates than anyone else in Sydney but it's her national ranking that's really worth a hashtag.

The 20-year-old Cambridge Gardens resident is Australia's third most prolific tweeter, a status she learned of after she appeared on a list in a Melbourne newspaper naming the country's top five tweeters. "I thought it was cool but weird at the same time," she said. "I didn't know I tweeted that much!"

Since joining Twitter in late 2008, she has attracted 2303 followers and sent 185,587 tweets — a number which increases daily.

According to Margin Media's analytics data, there were 2.1 million Twitter users across the nation as of last month and Warner's ranking means she's out-tweeted all but two of them. "I tweet when I wake up, when I go to bed and if I'm not working I'll tweet heaps, too," she said.

Communicating with like-minded people across the world is the main facet of Twitter which keeps Ms Warner typing and tapping away.

Through connecting with fellow fans of the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live, How I Met Your Mother and Glee, Warner has formed online friendships with Twitter users in the United States, England and New Zealand. "I can't talk about my music to any of my friends because they're always bagging it out, so when I tweet other people I can let everything out," she said. "I knew the girl who won [Australia's biggest tweeter, a Melbourne woman, 28] because we're friends over Twitter. She's a huge Katy Perry and Glee fan and we've been tweeting each other for a couple of years."

Also on the receiving end of Warner's tweets are celebrities and Ellen de Generes is one of her most high-profile followers.

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian has tweeted Warner to wish her a happy birthday and "Andrew Hansen from The Chaser tweeted me this morning".

Yet it's not always glitz and glamour and Ms Warner said "if people are bullying I try to not let anyone get bullied".

As for tweeting, mentioning and hash-tagging her way to the title of Australia's biggest tweeter, Ms Warner said "that'd be pretty cool" but said she was in no flutter to soar to the top of the Twitter cage.

"If I do, I do. My parents and friends were like 'Why aren't you No.1?' Dad said 'No one remembers third, Jack'. But I don't really care."
