Osteoporosis sufferers taught how to cope

OSTEOPOROSIS NSW will hold an educational seminar at Nepean Hospital next Tuesday (October 16).

The seminar informs osteoporosis sufferers how they can manage their condition.

Speakers include an endocrinologist, a dietitian and a physiotherapist.

Osteoporosis affects one in 10 people in Australia.

"In Australia, every five to six minutes someone is admitted to a hospital due to an osteoporotic fracture," Osteoporosis NSW health promotion manager Di Spragg said.

The seminar will be held from 10am to 12.30pm at Nepean Hospital Clinical School Auditorium, 62 Derby Street, Kingswood (opposite hospital entrance).

Costs are $10 for Arthritis NSW members or $15 for non-members and includes morning tea.

Bookings are essential.
