Under the hammer
If you've ever thought you might like to try your hand at auctioneering, try entering the novice auctioneers competition.
The winner is not determined by the prices they gain for the auctions, but for confidence, ability and control of the bidding.
To enter, simply find an item valued at more than $80 to sell.
It is open to anyone over the age of 18 and no real estate licence is required. If you are an accredited auctioneer you must have completed fewer than 10 auctions.
The competition will be held on Tuesday, October 9, at Penrith Golf Club, from 7pm.
Proceeds will go to the Nepean neonatal intensive care unit parent support.
Cost $55 per person, includes a two-course buffet with tea and coffee.
RSVP: By October 4 to Peter Prouzos, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Clairgate Public School, St Clair, has signed a sister school agreement with Tullibigeal Central School in the Lachlan Shire in western NSW, the first to be signed in the two areas.
The move will see the schools take part in exchanges and the sharing of information through internet-connected whiteboards and "connected" classrooms.
The arrangement was made possible through Penrith Council's Friendship Agreement with the Lachlan Shire.
