Celebrate spring at Penrith Library with free workshops this Saturday, September 15, from 9am to 4pm:
■ Growing wildflowers
■ Growing vegetables in a box
■ Growing herbs in containers
■ Worm farming
■ Volunteering and bush regeneration
■ Kitchen gardens.
Every visitor will take home a native plant seedling and could win a vegetable box, compost bin or worm farm by joining in a workshop.
Shopping bus trip
Make a date for fun on Sunday, September 23, when you with friends and family can spend money on the Vintage 87.6 and Music for Life fun shopping bus trip.
Meet at 6.45am outside Vintage FM 87.6, Able Street, to leave at 7am and return at 6pm.
The warehouses visited will be Deb's Hidden Treasures, K.B. Toys, the Handbag and Luggage House, Urban Ritvelle, Kingsgrove Shoe Warehouse, Home and Gift Warehouse, Katies, Crossroads, Autograph, Queenspark, Manchester Importers and Dola Dori.
There'll also be a great lunch and it's all only $55 per person.
All funds raised will go to the Cure for Life Foundation for Brain Cancer research.

Award for council
Penrith Council has received the Excellence in Sustainability Award and been Highly Commended for the Domestic Violence Resource Project.
They recognise initiatives such as the three-bin and E-Waste recycling systems, and services for domestic and family violence cases.
Fruit cake bargains
