Funding Boost for Nepean Food Services

NEPEAN Food Services received a $68,000 federal grant for meal provision and social support monitoring today.

The federal MP for Lindsay, David Bradbury, met staff at Nepean Food to discuss new initiatives being funded by the grant.

''The program is about making the lives of the elderly and most vulnerable in our community a bit easier and helping them to stay in their own homes for longer,'' Mr Bradbury said.

''The staff and volunteers at Nepean Food Services make an invaluable contribution to our community.''

Joint manager of Nepean Food Services Jenny Gillespie thanked Mr Bradbury for working to obtain the grant.

''Funding has allowed Nepean Food Services the opportunity to provide innovative and creative services and programs which are managed by a local community board of management and delivered by local volunteers,'' Ms Gillespie said.

''It is able to provide services and programs which are responsive to local service users needs.''
