Attempted murder charge after woman stabbed in St Marys

A MAN was charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed in St Marys last Saturday.

Police and emergency services were called to an address in Saddington Street at about 7.15pm.

They found a 35-year-old woman had sustained several stab wounds and treated her at the scene, before rushing her to Westmead Hospital.

She underwent surgery and her condition was later described as serious but stable.

Police later arrested a 26-year-old man in Redfern and charged him with attempted murder.

He was refused bail and appeared in court yesterday.
