It will create new positions, along with franchise and business opportunities.

Penrith, one of six new stores, was chosen after consultation with major builders and developers.

Dash off to fight cancer

Riyadh Christian, of Glenmore Park, is taking part in the Cancer Council's City Mile Dash, a lunchtime corporate speed race around Barangaroo, on Friday, June 15.

Awards for carers

Nominations are open for the 2012 NSW Carers Awards.

Nominations can be made online at www.adhc.nsw.gov.au until July 15.

Carers awards will be presented during NSW Carers Week ( October 14-20) with a special event for major recipients on Monday, October 15, at Parliament House.

Soccer player banned

A Minchinbury player has been charged with assault and banned from playing soccer for life.

This follows an incident in which the player allegedly struck a 17-year-old referee in an all-age match against Blacktown Workers on May 27.

The referee sustained a broken jaw.

The 24-year-old Glenmore Park player was banned at a Blacktown District Junior Soccer Association judiciary meeting.

He has also been charged with common assault and granted bail.

He will appear in Blacktown Court on June 20.
