Cricket club celebration

PENRITH Cricket Club will hold its season launch on Saturday, September 21, at Howell Oval, at 6pm.

The launch will be after the club's inter-squad trial games that afternoon.

This year's launch has a special theme, celebrating 40 years of Penrith Cricket.

The club will welcome former club greats at the function.

Meals and refreshments will be provided for those attending.

The evening will feature the announcement of the teams for round one of the Sydney Cricket Association competitions on Saturday, September 28.

Club stalwart Ryan Smith will announce the player to succeed him as club captain for the new season.

In recent weeks the club has held grading trials for the 2013/14 season.

Former Penrith and NSW batsman Steve Small is the new club coach.

The Panthers travel to Bathurst this weekend to play trial games among two of their squads and also conduct coaching clinics for the youngsters in the regional city.
