Disaster contest

High school students can unleash their creativity in an Australian Red Cross film competition.

Disasters Happen - Lights, Camera, Action! invites participants to create a 60-second film on the importance of preparing for disasters.

Videos must be submitted as a WAV, mp3 or mp4 file.

The winner will receive an iPad Mini, donated by Lion Co and the film will be uploaded to the Australian Emergency Management Knowledge Hub website.

Entries must be submitted by September 30.

Favourite business

Consumers are being urged to nominate their favourite business in Fair Trading's "I love my local business" competition, which is open until September 30.

Consumers must tell Fair Trading in 60 words or less what they love about their favourite local business.

200,000 food viewers

Penrith Leagues Club is about to give a new meaning to dishes flying out the door. Executive chef Tim Wesley and the club will be featured on Jetstar's Food Channel, seen by 200,000 passengers.

Weight loss expert Tony Ferguson joined Tim Wesley in the Kelly's Brasserie kitchen at Panthers to help prepare his signature dish, including farm lamb loin with roast Mediterranean vegetables, cauliflower puree and chermoula salsa.
