Perth AFL fans are getting just as much baby news as sports news on Twitter in recent months.
The Fremantle Dockers have taken to Twitter to proudly announce the safe arrival of Aaron and Jenny Sandilands' first daughter, Sloane Ellie Sandilands, just two days after the West Coast Eagles took to Twitter to break the news of the arrival of Daniel Kerr's new daughter.
@Fremantle_FC posted: "Aaron Sandilands is a DAD! His wife Jenny gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Monday morning – Sloane Ellie Sandilands #gofreo #goaaron"
As daughter to the tallest man in the AFL, most responses to the announcement were to ask how long she was and one user joking retweeted the announcement as: "Aaron Sandilands is a DAD! His wife Jenny gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Monday morning Baby 84 pounds 6 ounces".
Sloane is the latest arrival in the midst of an AFL baby boom in Perth. Matthew Pavlich and his wife Lauren are also expecting a new arrival and over at the Eagles, Daniel Kerr, Matt Priddis, Darren Glass, Dean Cox, Mark LeCras are all either nursing a new baby or waiting for an arrival.
