More Penrith and Regentville households and businesses now have fast, fixed-line broadband after Telstra completed its roll-out in the area.
Telstra manager Andrew Bogg said the new technology was being integrated into the existing street setups to allow more access to internet services.
"The upgrade will help customers connect TVs, computers, smartphones and tablets," Mr Bogg said.
"It will also enable our customers to access Foxtel on T-Box and have better access to a range of BigPond content, movies and channels."
This installation is part of a nationwide investment.
Penrith and Regentville residents can contact Telstra BigPond on 13 76 63 or visit their local store at Westfield Penrith for further information.
Project helps youth
MP for Penrith Stuart Ayres has welcomed the state government's new $3.1 million Youth Opportunities initiative.
The project encourages young Aboriginal people to build their leadership skills and become more involved in their communities.
"We all benefit when young people become more involved in community life and I'm sure this funding will be greatly appreciated by Nepean Community and Neighbourhood Services and the Penrith Community." Mr Ayres said.
"Given the right opportunities, the young leaders we nurture today will hopefully become the elder statespeople society can turn to in the future." he said.
