School infants on the move
Penrith MP Stuart Ayres welcomed the decision to retain the Glenbrook Infants School site for educational purposes once the infants have been moved to the primary school site.
The Education Department will consider a number of options for the site.
The first group of kindergarten students start at the main school site next year.
There will be trackwork on the Western and Blue Mountains lines on November 24-25.
Buses will replace trains between Blacktown and Penrith, and between Bathurst and Blacktown.
Concrete sleepers will be laid and there will be improvements to overhead wiring and signal upgrades.

UWS gains research grants
The University of Western Sydney has risen up the ranks of Australia's research universities after it was awarded Australian Research Council grants.
UWS was awarded more than $5.8 million for 18 Discovery Project grants. It now ranks 11th out of 40 universities nationwide on both the amount of dollars and number of grants awarded.
Research areas that received grants include climate change, business, urban infrastructure and health.
The university was also awarded a Discovery Early Career Researcher Award and two Discovery Indigenous grants, placing it first in the sector for indigenous grants.
